A Few Words on Diet & Health

80-20mealBy Dr. John Christopher

Natural food should be eaten in moderation and in simplicity. The fruits are especially good for cleansing the system after your night’s fast during sleep and it will satisfy the need and craving for sweetness. The green herbs of the garden, used fresh and tender in salads and chewed well, will build strength and vitality into the body tissues. The bulbs, roots, and starches in grains will provide fire and heat for the body, but these should be eaten only as needed for the more strenuous physical labors. The sprouted seeds are nourishing tonics to restore the body constitution and in resisting ill health. The nuts of the trees will provide the nutrient “meat” (protein) for man and will season other foods. The culinary herbs will provide variety, flavor, and seasoning as nutritional agents. And in the whole of your daily activities, you must achieve a varied and harmoniously-blended whole: fresh air, sunshine, exercise, work play, song, prayer, reading, meditation, recreation, etc.

FASTING

The “no breakfast” procedure:

So many times you will hear people say, “But breakfast is my main meal; start the day with a big breakfast and you start the day off right.” This “big breakfast” idea is pushed hard by the breakfast-food, egg, milk, and coffee merchants, and some of their advertising plays on emotional fears. But this is so wrong, as better health is found in countries where people have the custom of not eating breakfast, except maybe a warm cup of liquid, and the first meal of the day is eaten at noon. And there are places where the evening meal is the first and only one, as the partaking of food is considered a privilege only after the work has been done and the right to eat is earned. So as you try the “no breakfast” experiment, the first few days may be a little rough, with headaches, light-headedness, grumpiness, etc.  This will only last a few days and you will see great improvement in health. There are many that champion the fast as a cure for anything and everything, or that fruit alone will answer your health problems, or juice therapy alone, or all raw fruits and vegetables. But in your properly-balanced program, some of the food will be raw, while some of it will be steamed, baked or low-heated.

A bodily famine is not required:

Periodic fasting is good to cleanse the body, but a bodily famine is not required as a sacrifice for cleansing. A cross-country runner would be committing suicide to make a grueling competitive twenty or thirty mile run without preparation and so it is with the fast; a person must work up gradually to the longer fasts.

MEAT AND ANIMAL PROTEIN

All animated life can only live in health on vegetation of some type. Some of the birds, animals and men live on the carcasses of other higher animal life, but these carcasses are ones that have received their health and vitality from vegetation. This is second-hand or secondary food that has lost a lot of its value, but it still has some nutrient value in it that can be traced back to the original or primary food source in the vegetation. The bird that eats the insect gets its real food value from the tree, plant or shrub that the insect has fed on, and not from the insect itself.

You are culturally conditioned to believe that meat and milk are an absolute dietary necessity, and you react almost without thought: “Yes, but what about protein? We need the protein so badly, and we will wither up and die without sufficient amounts of it.” And where do most of our people go to get their main source of protein? From the lower animal kingdom, steaks from the carcasses of slaughtered animals. And where does the meat-providing cow obtain its protein? From eating grass. The only value in meat is what the particular animal has received from eating green herbs.

Mole Testimony:

salve-jars300x200

Over the course of the past 6 months or so, I found that using the BBB Mole Salve to naturally remove a rather sizable mole located just above the ear has worked quite well. All that remains is barely some scar tissue and no more large mole! This too continues to heal more and more every day.

cellfood

More importantly, I found that the process of breaking down the mole tissue, and healing the area was greatly accelerated by using another healing remedy, in conjunction with the Salve. I use a product called Cellfood (which can be found at www.cellfood.com).

Cellfood, in and of itself, has many uses, as it gives the body an oxygen supplement  to heal, inside and out (You can drink it with water as directed as well… I do.). The addition of this to the treatment had amazing results! The Cellfood (full strength – a few drops on a Q-tip) applied, 2x per day, followed (a few minutes later when dry) by the Salve to coat the area, seems to do the job quite well. I noticed that without the Cellfood, the Salve alone on such a large mole might take months or even years to work, at the speed it was progressing. Adding the Cellfood to the treatment caused the process of breaking down and healing the area to be greatly speeded up.

moles

As well, trying to use the Cellfood alone, caused too much drying of the skin and actually slowed the healing progress. Applying the Cellfood, waiting a few minutes, then applying the Salve to maintain the moisture, both in the morning and at night, has worked quickly and without pain, discomfort or even surgery as recommended by conventional doctors. A fantastic combination…(Another Happy Member!!)

WHAT IS CONSTIPATION?

More people have died of MALNUTRITION, SUFFOCATION, and CONSTIPATION than from all the wars, automobile accidents, earthquakes and fires to date. Yet, you seldom hear of it, and the poor, suffocating and victimized ORGAN that gives out is generally given the official blame.

When we speak of constipation, we usually think of only the lower bowel area, but this is only a small part of it.

The entire body is composed of flexible systems of tubing, much like that of the intestines. It is of varied sizes, some of which are even smaller than a hair.

The Great Planner equipped the body structure with these rubber-like pipes of all kinds and sizes, from the largest intestine (which can expand to a terrific size) down to the arteries, veins, and minute capillaries; and though the capillaries are smaller than hairs, they are perfectly constructed and pliable; but when they are not properly provided and cared for, they age like an old rubber hose and eventually break at the weak spots.

This is the case in varicosity, as the taut life-line gets clogged up like lime inside the household plumbing. At times the mucoid matter forms a hard lining in the bowel so that the peristaltic action ceases, and this solid shield inhibits peristaltic action upon the feces materials.

We have seen this mucous lining taken from patients that appeared like hard, black plastic, shaped to the curvature of the colon walls. And, as you progress in this program, do not be surprised to see some of these linings coming from your body also.

Usually a person takes little notice of constipation and, instead of getting at the real cause, just starts using laxatives, enemas, bulk and volume remedies to break a passage through for temporary relief.

chest-pain-183x253When constipation goes throughout the entire body, and when it becomes extra bad and congested in one area, the discomfiture will grow until a peak of pain is reached, and this is really the nature of what we term “disease.”

Do not allow yourself to become confused with thousands of seemingly-sophisticated medicinal terms; just remember that there is only one disease, and that is systemal constipation.

This mucus constipation will back up not only in the arterial structure, but also into the cells and tissues; and it can become so severe that it will eventually bring the entire system to a standstill.

Where does all of this mucus, sludge, and waste come from? It is from those things that we eat with our eyes and taste-buds, from what we put into the body and incorrectly call “food”.

To make the change from an imperfect, mucus-filled body to one of health, the taste buds will be a big factor with many, while with others, it will be fear.

We have heard persons say, “Why, I enjoy the type of food I am used to, and I would rather risk ill health than change.” Well, at that moment, they have made the choice of living to eat, instead of eating to live.

The average individual has grown up on the “great American diet” of meat, potatoes, and gravy, and is naturally prone to panic at the very thought of missing a meal–let alone fasting a few days, and he is deathly afraid that he will starve to death.

The truth is that very few persons ever starve to death, but die first from fear and panic. There are persons who have gone over a hundred days without food and over two weeks without water and lived, so missing a few meals will be most beneficial in a positive approach.

Anything that is worthwhile cannot be had without some sacrifice, and though abstinence from food or from indulgence in over-eating may seem like a sacrifice and a burden, the supposed “sacrifice” will be realized as a blessing instead after the goal has been reached.

Painful Periods & Uterine fibroids

img345

Sadly, my story is far too familiar. When womanhood began pouring out of me during my fifth grade year it marked the beginning of a monthly cycle of misery. On that fateful day my parents rushed to my school with a change of clothes and the female products necessary to rescue me from the girl’s bathroom. Release from the cycle of pain would not be so easily secured. Over the next twenty-five years I normally kept a supply of over the counter female remedies in my purse at all times. The onset and intensity of my menstrual pain was too unbearable for even a quick trip to the corner store once my cycle began.

dara16yrs

In my late twenties the development of uterine fibroids intensified an already intolerable state of things. The fibroids caused my cycles to increase in volume and duration. A prescription for birth control pills provided some normalcy and relief but these were not the healing answers I so badly needed. My body continued to show serious signs of hormonal imbalance. During routine salon visit for a wash and cut in 1996, my stylist informed me she felt I had abnormal hair loss. She had to be right; the apparent hair loss was visible every time I ran a brush through my hair.

Browsing through the herbal remedies at my local health food store I came across a jar of Progesterone Cream, a hormonal support product made from Wild Yam. I began rubbing a small amount into my skin morning and evening. Within a couple of weeks my hair stopped falling out and my next cycle was nearly normal. The wild yam continued to prove itself and within a few months the heavy bleeding and painful cycles had greatly subsided.

Two years later in 1998, I discovered the power of herbal extracts and the Female Formula which contained a list of balancing herbs used by women for hundreds of years. The Female Formula brought an end to Twenty Five years of monthly misery.

What to expect using the Female Formula

Working with hundreds of women over the past 15 years a pattern has emerged in the way the Female Formula generally affects the cycles over the first three months of use. Three months is the average time needed to normalize a hormonally unbalanced system. It is not uncommon to skip a cycle during the first full month of using the Female Formula. The second month the cycle will resume with less hormonal issues. Most women experience greatly improved to normal cycles by the third month.

The Ex-Mens Formula is an excellent aid and can be used with great results during a cycle where there is excessive bleeding. During my heavy bleeding I found it slowed down my flow in a matter of a few hours. This formula can provide additional support while the fibroids are clearing and the system is balancing.

Here is a tried and true way to stop the misery quickly without drugs.

  • -1/2 tsp lobelia is 4 ounces water
  • 15 min later
  • -1/2 tbsp crampbark
  • 15 min later
  • -1 tsp antispasmodic
  • 15 min later
  • -1/2 tbsp crampbark
  • Alternate between crampbark and antispasmodic every 15 min .  On the hour throw in lobelia.
  • Pain will eventually subside, it can take longer to subside when you pain level is already super high. As soon as you feel discomfort begin the herbal supports and they are often very quick and effective.

Life’s Surprises

sun-drenchedLife is full of surprises, some good, others not so great.  Living well is the ability to pass through today and into tomorrow with dignity and grace.  Ensuring an excellent tomorrow depends on how well we embrace today’s revealed lessons.  Life is all about choices, choosing to be other focused; choosing to accept the result of a poor choice; choosing to make better choices as past errors in judgment gifts us with their lessons.

The understanding of life shifts as experience expands the mind repainting the narrow misconceptions of childhood with the broader strokes of maturity.  Each of us begins life completely self-focused, unable to see beyond our own needs and feelings.  The value of others is taught by experiences.  Each interaction writes deeply into the softness of a child.  Every look, action and tone is soaked up by the little sponges.

The lack of maturity along with the self-focused slant to a child’s personality makes one prone to misinterpret experiences.  Evaluating the values leaned as a child, making sure they still make sense is difficult.  Often it is not until our life ceases to work; when we are finally forced to ask the question that we discover all the false assumptions we accepted as truth when but a child.

Forgiving past errors in judgment along with the downright bad choices can be a slow process.  Learning to live life with eyes wide open is a part of the healing process.  A willingness to see the hard things is a sign of maturity.

Understanding that living well requires maturity to view life through the eyes of love, allowing growth will take time and mistakes are only chances to grow.  Choosing to stay other focused knowing our choices affect for good or evil all those within our sphere of influence.

Thanksgiving my Way

100_0376Every year my husband and I seem to do Thanksgiving a bit different.  Growing up it was all about the food, something I take no joy in and find hard to justify.  Don’t get me wrong I love good food, what I don’t love is too much at one time.  My idea of a great meal is one scrumptious dish prepared to perfection and enjoyed slowly.  Each year we decide what delectable treat will be our Thanksgiving meal, buy all the ingredients and enjoy our own company preparing the dish.

The second part of the holiday is the weekend project.  Four whole days to ourselves to fill in any way we please, this alone is heaven.  Several years ago we spent the entire holiday weekend redecoration our movie room.  My husband is a puzzle lover so we decided to paint the walls with huge puzzle pieces. It actually turned out quite well.  Over the past 32 years my idea of the perfect day has not changed much.  Perfection is being wrapped up in a warm cozy blanket with the one who has filled my life with every good thing since the day we feel in step together and oh yes, good food and a good book.

Herbal Answers for Impotency aka Erectile Dysfunction

Man new lifeImpotency also known as Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is becoming a more common occurrence in the younger middle aged man.  There are many good natural supports proven able to rebuild the testosterone levels.  What has been missing from the healing mix is something to help clear the blockage and support circulation into the affected area.

A confession is important at this point, after 32 years with my husband the thought of giving up or even cutting back on the “good stuff” did not sit well with me.  The first time the “toys” failed to work as they always had motivated me to look for answers in a way few things would.  The Male formula and Male Booster were added to his morning Superfood drink.  Taking several doses of herbs daily has never been a strong point for my husband.  The once a day dosing of the Male formulas proved to be enough.

Over the years I have counseled several men dealing with impotency issues.  The ones who recovered well not only supported their systems with the herbal aids to rebuild but also increased their physical activities and cleaned up their food programs.  An understanding that an enlarged prostate can also play a part in a lack of circulation suggested we add the M&L Salve to the basic program for most men.  This has proven to be very beneficial as the salve opens the area up, clearing blockage and allowing good circulation.

A good basic program for Impotency for most men would be to consume 1 tsp. Male formula 2 or 3 times a day. Topically apply the M&L Salve over the male member and sac each night for at least a week.  Apply a good amount to the body and a piece of flannel material wrapped around the male members.  The use of briefs will keep the “pack” in place throughout the night.  This topical application can be continue longer if needed.  For further support the Glands formula (Same mix as the M&L Salve) can be taken as a tea as well three times a day.

The Male Boost can be added, if needed, for additional support raising Testosterone levels.  The Male Boost is a low dose formula; begin using ¼ tsp only 2 times a day.  One of the members working to build his testosterone levels discovered the Male Boost formula played with this high blood pressure issues.  He decided the drop in his energy levels were too severe to completely discontinue use of the formula.  He found a 10 drop dose would provide the hormonal support without affecting his blood pressure.  Several men using the formula with no blood pressure issues have reported using as much as ½ tsp 2 or 3 times a day without issue.

Our regular Male formula has not been known to affect the blood pressure.  Those just beginning a healing program may want to start with only the Male formula and add the Male boost if symptoms suggest the need for additional support.

This program cleared up my husband’s issues and the feedback I have received has been very positive each time I have suggested these herbal supports to HEAL’s membership.

Tinctures Q&A: How to Make Extracts; The Alcohol

tea-2

The question of alcohol consumption comes up often since so many of our members, including myself, choose not to consume alcohol.  Below is my answer to this concern.

In the Bible we are told that there is a purpose for “everything under the sun” this would include alcohol.  Although alcohol has been an abused substance since the flood it does have properties that have proven extremely useful in the healing arts.  When looking at the value of alcohol for the making and long term storage of medicinal herbs it can been seen there is no other substance under heaven that can do this job.

tea-3
tea-4

Alcohol is a “preservant” “extratorant” and “solvent”. When the herbs are added the alcohol dissolves the fibers, extracts the properties and preserves them for hundreds of years just the way God put them together.  When ready to use the extracts the alcohol is easily removed by adding hot water.  The alcohol is evaporated, removed,  from the portion in the cup when hot water of at least 170 degrees is added.
When it is not desirable to consume the alcohol add the dose to be use to any tea cup, then pour boiling water in on top the extract to “shock” the alcohol off.  You will often see a puff of white smoke rising from the cup.  This is the alcohol being removed.  Allow the brew in your cup to cool to a comfortable drinking temperature, add honey if needed and enjoy.

The Holidays are Here Again!

thanksgiving-mealThe Holiday season is upon us, Thanksgiving is only weeks away with all the family drama, rich food and pretty much everything needed to overtax and stress our nerves and digestive systems.  Learning how to enjoy ourselves without paying an overly high price for the privilege is vital to living well.  Life’s dramas are not to be avoided but embraced and learned from.

Avoid overeating, filling the stomach until uncomfortable.  Overeating will place a heavy burden on the digestive systems causing frayed nerves and short tempers.

Eating continually throughout the day prevents the digestive process from completing well.  Allow at least 5 hours between meals.  Coming to the table with a healthy appetite ensures better digestion and more enjoyment of the food eaten.

Drinking more than a few ounces of water or juice with a meal will dilute the digestive juices inhibiting suitable absorption of the nutrients consumed.

Support herbs to have on hand for the holiday emergencies would be:

Digestive Tonic: for any upset in the upper digestion; Gas, Bloating, Upset Tummy ect…

Cayenne:  This herb moves the blood; reach for it first for Heart attack, Stroke, any bleeding on the outside of the body due to cuts or scrapes.

Lobelia: Breathing issues, Charlie horses, pulled muscles,

LBF #2: Vomiting or Diarrhea,

Digestive Tonic & LP formula: Gallbladder Attack

Knowing how to deal with life’s little emergencies allows the good times to be even better.  No sad trips to the emergency room will occur when the proper use of these herbal supports are understood.

Cayenne for Cold Hands & Feet

adding-extract-to-waterCayenne an Aid for Warming Cold hands and Feet

Cold weather can be a trial for those with poor circulation.  Spending the cold months of winter in a constant shiver unable to maintain the body warmth needed for comfort is no way to live.  Cayenne is the answer for anyone dreading the cold.  Cayenne moves blood increasing circulation which contributes to an increase in body heat.  Begin by adding 5 to 10 drops of cayenne tincture to any cup of tea or glass of juice.  Continue increasing the number of drops until you are able to add a teaspoon of cayenne tincture to a glass of tea or juice.  Try doing this daily or even twice a day for better circulation. The warm hands and feet good circulation provides will more than make up for the discomfort of learning to use cayenne
