Using Herbs Topically

Salve on Flannel

Taking the best herbal support will avail nothing if the nutrient rich food is unable to travel to and through the affected area.  Good Circulation ensures adequate nutrients into the areas needing healing and the removal of waste for disposal through the kidneys and liver.  During each cycle through the damaged or sick area the blood drops off the incoming load of nutrients while reloading with wastes up for removal from the system.

Applying nutrient rich salves, poultices, and lotions over an affected area is an excellent way to speed-up the healing process.  The purpose of any topical application is to saturate the affected area with the nutrients needed to best affect the sick area.   Often the use of hydrotherapy is applied to blast through the blockage enabling the healing herbs to reach the sick or injured area.  Hydrotherapy can be enhanced through the topical use of herbal stimulants which encourage the circulation of nutrient and oxygen rich blood through the damaged or sick area.

Fomentation 4

Fomentation’s have been used for centuries to encourage circulation and the saturation of needed nutrients into an ailing area or body system.  H.E.A.L. has found the use of Salves effective while being much less messy or time consuming.  In the salve we have a concentration of nutrients which when applied quickly penetrate sending their powerful healing aids deep into the affected area.

A second type of topical application is one that draws infection directly from the body.  Depending on the type of poultice used these may be applied hot or at normal room temperature.

Castor oil packs break up congestion in the body.  Castor Oil is an excellent aid for breaking up congestion in the Liver or Bowel.  It is also useful in dissolving tumorous growths in the body.

Any topical application of herbs will prove more effective when used in conjunction with the internal herbal supports and nutrition.  The Bowels must be open and working well, the immune system must be well boosted, and the blood loaded with nutrition from fresh juices and superfoods if the body is to do its part in the healing process.

Liver Flushing Children

sick child in bedThe SAD food program being consumed is seriously beginning to affect our children.  Health issues that used to be reserved for the middle aged are creeping into the preteen child.

The question has now been posed.  How young is too young to liver flush?

My answer is given along with a caution to remember that a child is to be handled with loving care.  Liver Flushing is a powerful healing tool but at the same time not the most pleasant of experiences.   When dealing with an immature mind that is unable to grasp the concepts involved it is best to make cleansing a party event.  The child will drink most anything if presented in the right way.  Make cleansing fun, do it with the child taking pains to keep the mood light and happy.

A child off the breast eating solid food can be flushed.  Unless there are physical issues requiring attention such as hives, for example, flushing a child this young is not something I would suggest.

Regular cleansing and liver flushing can begin when the child is between 2 and 4 years old.  Again I caution don’t overdo the cleansing on a small child.  Maybe, once a year have a liver cleansing party for the whole family, (and friends, these are truly special people).

The instructions for doing an ELF are in our Liver-flushing E-Book and available on Video in our Members area.  Here are a few suggestions for E.L.F.ing a child.

The only precondition for doing any type of Liver Flushing is THE BOWELS MUST BE OPEN and working well.  If necessary do an enema on the child.

Start out light.  A small child of 2 years would use around 2 oz of Olive oil and 2 oz Grapefruit juice.  This would equate to the adult dose of 8 oz Olive oil and 8 oz Grapefruit juice.

The first flush on such a little system might be better done with 1 oz or 1.5 oz of oil with the juice.  If the issue is serious enough to need to flush such a little person the flushing will likely need to be repeated. Start out with the smaller amount and see how the child responds to the work being done.

For the older child around 50 pounds give 1/3 the adult dose.  Normally round the weight to the nearest 25 pound mark for easier dosing.   The adult weight is set at 150 pounds.  A child of 75 lbs. would receive half the adult dose, or 4 ounces of olive oil in 4 oz grapefruit juice.

This rule can be applied, when dosing children, to all the herbal supports.

The child will look to the adult’s reaction when deciding how acceptable something, if the adults will keep a happy expression making a game out of it the child will go along easily.

Your Best Will Be Enough

AlvisI learned today about the death of a lady I used to know.   I have not spoken to her since I was in California after the death of my mother.  She lived across the street from my childhood home with her six children.  She did the best she could with what she had and it was enough.  Her children have all done well.   They remain a tight knit group.  She can rest in peace knowing her best has proved to be enough.

Do the best you can with what you have, and it will be enough.  This is all any of us can ever do.  We have all made regrettable choices and will likely make a few more before we are done.  The only safeguard against the long term shipwreck of life is emotional honesty.

Own your choices, good bad or just dumb, they are all yours.  Forgive yourself and be willing to extend to other erring mortals this same consideration.  Very few in life are truly evil, most are just ill informed or angry individuals needing our love and pity.

Emotional Honesty is being willing to see all sides of life, not just your own.  This is only possible when one is internally grounded.  This grounding, for me, has come from knowing the one who loves me most knows me best.  Whatever the wind blowing through my life I continue to abide safely because I am loved.  No longer tossed from pillar to post I’m grounded to the unmovable rock of ages.

What is Real Food?

The body will keep us alive and healthy provided that we feed it “Real Food”. Real food is a food which is compatible with the body; that in no way takes from the body, but lends itself to the building up of health and maintaining life. It contains nothing that is harmful, toxic or non-usable by the body.

Real Food is defined for us by Nature as follows:

1) Something edible grown by Nature of the Plant Kingdom.
2) Food which can be eaten without processing in any way.
3) Food which comes to us from Nature as “complete packages”, that is, they contain naturally everything in them necessary for the body to process and assimilate that food.

Why Do We Eat Food?

The only qualities of food which the body requires in a complete package are the following:

GLUCOSE, PROTEIN, FATTY ACIDS, MINERALS, ENZYMES, WATER

If all of these components are in the food, the food is complete. If any of these are missing, the food is not “Real Food”.

Real Food is provided by Nature in this form as raw fruits and vegetables. Raw fruits and vegetables contain all of the parts mentioned above. If food has been processed, cooked or altered in any way so as to change or eliminate any of the above ingredients, it is no longer “Real Food” as far as the Human Body is concerned.

PLANTS ARE THE SOURCE OF REAL FOOD FOR ALL LIFE FORMS

photosynthesis-colorThe plant kingdom utilizes sunshine, carbon dioxide, oxygen, water and organic minerals in the process of photosynthesis to feed itself and grow. The result is a living plant (food for animal consumption) containing: Glucose, Protein, Fatty Acids, Organic Minerals, Organic Enzymes (vitamins), Water (pure)

Inorganic Mineral from the Earth + Photosynthesis = Organic Minerals from Plants which provide Protein and Enzymes for animals and humans.

The animal kingdom does not possess the ability to perform photosynthesis, therefore must rely on the plant kingdom to prepare its food.

Any form of processing nature’s foods (such as pasteurization, cooking, adding preservatives, etc.) breaks the bonds between the food components and their attached enzymes as well as destroys the enzyme. The result is inorganic or denatured food components and thus inorganic food.

The enzyme must be alive and attached to the mineral or food component in order for the body to utilize it. The enzyme acts as a “passport” to get the mineral into the cell of the body and aids in the cell’s utilization of that mineral. Raw foods are living and thus produce life in the body; because they have intact enzymes they are organic. Enzymes are catalysts – substances which help the body work more efficiently in utilizing food for life maintaining purposes.

An example of an inorganic substance is table salt. It is simply sodium and chloride. No enzymes, thus it is dead and the body cannot use it. Our bodies cannot attach an enzyme to inorganic substances, except at great cost. It is only the plant kingdom, through the process of photosynthesis that can attach enzymes to inorganics and make them living or organic.

The more we process a food, the less nutrient value it retains. This is because living foods are organic foods. Processed foods, to various degrees, are inorganic or “dead” foods.

The following is the hierarchy of food preparation starting at the top with no preparation leaving the food with its full nutrient content, ending at the bottom with the most processing, rendering the food dead and useless to the body – little or no nutrient value retained:

RAW and WHOLE JUICED and consumed immediately once the skin of fruits or vegetables is broken, oxygen combines with the enzymes and kills them (this process is called “oxidation”)

DEHYDRATED or DRIED loses 2-5% of nutrient value dried without chemicals or additives commercial brands of dried fruit contain sulfur dioxide; exception: raisins)

FROZEN freshly picked and frozen immediately loses 5-30% of nutrient value

STEAMED loses 15 – 60% of nutrient value steamed means the green bean is still a bit crispy (if it’s limp, its cooked)

COOKED baked, broiled, boiled, grilled, steamed too long, home canned the green bean is limp loses 40 -100% of nutrient value, depending on how long it is cooked

COOKED LEFTOVERS MICRO WAVED Loses 90 – 99% of nutrient value

COMMERCIALLY CANNED FOODS– FRIED FOODS– FOODS with ADDITIVES These not only lose 100% of their nutrient value, but have toxins added to them

Clearing a Fever Naturally

ailmentFeverIt is always best to work with nature, not against it. A proper understanding of why the body becomes feverish will pave the way for intelligently supporting a fevered body.  A fever is not a disease but is when a congested condition occurs in the body wherein the removal of waste is being blocked.  A Fever is nature’s way of trying to burn out the toxic poisons.

A Fever often occurs when exposure to cold causes the capillaries near the skins surface to contract.  This contraction is enough to prevent the removal of waste matter through the pores of the skin.  The thick glutinous and fibrinous matters begin to harden creating congestion in the system.  The natural function of the body is to increase the heat to a point wherein the fibrinous matters are made liquid enough to pass through the fine delicate excretory membranes and tubules.

When a Fever Just Gets Started: it can be cleared up very easily, if these following procedures are started early.

  • Stop the use of all foods and beverages,
  • Take a high herbal enema (catnip is good)
  • Drink only red raspberry tea.
  • Between cups of this tea, distilled water may be used
  • A good organic (natural) Vitamin C supplement
  • Drink several quarts of red raspberry tea during the day, but no solid foods.

The running nose, fever, headache and weariness will soon leave and one will feel like a new person. Even after feeling greatly improved, continue on with the red raspberry leaf tea all that day and well into the next day.

If an adult will stay on the tea for three days, it would do a wonderful cleansing job for the body.

To make red raspberry leaf tea:

  • Add one heaping teaspoonful of cut or powdered raspberry leaves into a teacup
  • Fill the cup with boiling distilled water,
  • Cover and let stand in a warm place for five or ten minutes
  • Strain, and drink it while it is very warm

You may use an ounce of red raspberry leaves to a pint of distilled water, if desiring to make up more at a time.

THE TEN MOST IMPORTANT HERBS

There are well over three hundred thousand herbs–many of them have been life-savers over the years.  Can we, then, find the “Ten Most Important”, which should be kept on hand at all times for health or survival emergencies?  This is a hard one–choosing the names of ten of my top friends, our herbs.  Perhaps the best way to proceed is to choose one herb from each of ten major herb categories of which there are many more.

Hippocrates used twenty-nine herbs and their combinations to help keep the people of the Isle of Cos in a healthy condition.  In our practice we use approximately one hundred common herbs to take care of any malfunction that has been brought to our attention.  We will, therefore offer you a tithe of our herbs.  One herb cannot be said to be superior to another, as each has its own specific use, so we will list the categories from which each herb was selected alphabetically.

Conclusion

These ten herbs may be stored in any number of forms, bulk, capsules, tablet, tincture, concentrate, etc.  Tinctures, syrups, concentrates and ointments if properly sealed can last twenty or more years and not lose potency.  The bulk dry herbs should be put into cans such as the type in which bulk honey is often sold.  The lid should be pressed in tightly and sealed carefully with a paraffin wax.  All stored herbs should be sealed in this way with paraffin.

The diaphoretic herbs are the ones to be collected in the largest amounts.  A pound per person of these herbs in their dry form is not out of line.

If the dry herbs, capsules or tablets can be sealed hermetically so much the better.  It would be wise to store the seeds from as many of these herbs as possible.  Label them well and seal them up for use in times of natural disaster.

Liver Flushing- The Preparation

liver flush drinkDoing anything well requires a bit of groundwork and understanding.  Liver flushing is no exception.  Understanding what the liver flush is to accomplish and how best to prepare for this work can be as important as the process itself.

Liver Flushing, put very simply, is the process of changing out your internal vacuum cleaner’s bag.  The liver is the vacuum cleaner of the entire body.  If there is waste needing to be cleared the liver is what will be doing the work.  When there is injury or disease the liver is hard at work clearing out the old diseased or injured material while the body is working to heal and rebuild.   Massive nutrition along with good steady flushing of the bowels, liver and Kidneys will support the body as it does the innate work of self-healing.

Supporting the Process

The Bowels must be open and working well before any type of liver flushing can be attempted.  The problem is many of us think we are doing just fine in this area when in fact our bowels are actually backed up.  One bowel movement a day is not enough.  A good functioning bowl will move upon rising and after every meal. This is how the body was made to function.  The liver is working through the night filling the bowel with waste which begs to be eliminated shortly after rising each morning.

When a meal is consumed the process of chewing and swallowing initiates the peristaltic motion of the intestines and bowels.  This symmetrical contraction and relaxation creates a waving motion which moves the food through the digestive tract, the small intestines and colon.

Current Meal: The meal being consumed is moved to the stomach and small intestine where it will be broken down and the nutrients absorbed.

Last Meal: The meal from before is moved from the small intestine to the colon, where absorption of nutrients continues and the excess water is resorbed.

Two Meals Back: The meal from before this one will be eliminated within an hour or so of eating.

Using the Lower Bowel Formula #1 will ensure the bowels are working well.  Once you have established good daily movements it is time to begin liver flushing.  To ensure the bowels are truly working well The Prune Juice Flush is an excellent one day program for clearing any lingering waste in the bowel.

Food Program

Leading up to the Liver Flushing Program a normal healthy food program can be maintained.  Consuming two or three 8 oz glasses of apple juice each day for the preceding five days will aid in softening the waste in the liver.  These glasses of apple juice should be consumed alone, between meals.  During the week or days of liver flushing the best food program is Juice fasting or Raw food only.  (See the liver flushing E-book and Video in Member’s area for details.)

How to Begin to Cleanse

Starterkitsm-email

Several articles are available to explain the “why”.  Today we are going to unwrap the question:  “How” to begin?

The decision has been made; it’s time to do some internal spring cleaning.  Everything you need to cleanse the bowels, liver and kidneys is now setting next to the open box on your dining room table.  Surveying the bags of tea and brown bottles of extracts it is easy to feel a bit overwhelmed.   Where do I begin is the first of many questions you are asking yourself.  Today we are going to open the box together as we go through the basic startup of a good cleansing, healing program.

the Incurables Program; An Overview

The Unpacking of the box

Grouping the items together for the flushing programs is a good place to begin.

Foundational Items: Superfood, Echinacea, (Bowel Formulas) LBF #1, LBF #2

Liver Flush:  Detox Tea & Detox Tincture, LP formula, Echinacea

Kidney Flush: Kidney Flush Tea & Kidney Tincture, Cayenne, Echinacea

cup-of-tea-01

Support Formulas: This would be any specific formulas for your personal conditions. Example would be: High Blood Pressure, Female or Male formula, Pancreas Support, ect…  These items can be started today.  Begin using the dosage we discussed or look up the information sheet on line in the Member’s Area.  You can also email if you need and someone will be happy to send you specific information on how to use these formulas.

The Directions: If you do not have the Flushing E-books feel free to download them from the member’s area or email and we will send then as attached pdf files.  The flushing E-books contain directions and schedules.

Today: At Dinner time take 1 LBF #1 Capsule.  That is it. Very simple, continue with your regular food program while you establish your bowel program.

Day 1: Breakfast is 2 table spoons of Superfood in your fresh juice.  Midmorning take a full ounce of Echinacea in a large mug.  At dinner time take two LBF # 1 Capsules.

Day 2: Repeat day 1 but take 3 capsules with your dinner.  Continue to increase the LBF #1 until your bowels are open and working well.

Day?: Somewhere between day 3 and day 10 most of us find our LBF #1 number, (how many caps we have to use daily to maintain good bowel movement), once you have found your number it is time to begin using the LBF #2.  Most of us have to increase the LBF #1 by 2 or 3 caps daily when we begin using the LBF #2.  The LBF #2 is a black clay powder formula which moves slowly through the system.  It is a bowel vacuum, pulling waste from the walls as it passes along.  Follow the directions using 1 rounded teaspoon every three waking hours.

When the bowels are open and working well it is time to begin the liver flushing program.

The five day Liver Flushing program can be done with the degree of intensity desired.  Beginning with an E.L.F. (Emergency Liver Flush) is a great way to kick off your week of cleansing.   It is always a great idea to end with the E.L.F. on day five.  See the video in the member’s area for more details on doing an E.L.F.

Five Day Kidney Flush: After completing the week of Liver Flushing it is time to flush the Kidneys.  The Kidney Flush is also a five day program.  See E-book for detailed instructions.

Painless Juice Fasting

treat-cancer240x240

When thinking of summer my mind is filled with all the great tastes and smells out of the garden.  Meals prepared with nothing but fresh fruits and vegetables right from nature.  This is also the best time of year for a good long juice fast filled with plenty of water and nutrition.

When doing a juice fast of any length there are several good items to use daily.

Fiber Plus Powder: Use a rounded teaspoon of fiber in a glass of juice or water each day.  This will add bulk to the bowels ensuring comfortable movements.

Superfood: Use 2 to 4 tablespoons three times a day for added energy.  Using the Superfood in a glass of fresh juice three times a day will not only keep the hungeries away but your energy will shoot through the roof.

Echinacea: Use an ounce a day for four days each week you are fasting.  The need for a strong immune system while juicing is huge.  All the fresh juices create an alkaline condition in the body which allows for deep down detoxing.  The entire system will be dumping waste.  Unless you want to feel like you’ve been run over by a freight train I strongly suggest using the Echinacea.

Carrot Juice: 16-32 ounces each day.  This will ensure the raw material is available to build the needed immune cells.  Juice your carrots first then build the rest of your vegetable juice on top the carrot juice.  Split into 16 oz portions and drink throughout the day.

Fruit Juice: Apple juice is always an excellent juice.  Here is a suggestion for a tasty blend of several different fruits.  This will produce about ½ gallon of juice.

8 Kale Leaves, 6 apples, 1 pear, ¼ pineapple, 1 cantaloupe

Using the fruit juices in the morning and vegetable juices in the afternoon is often found useful.  The fruit juice provide a nice pick up for starting the day.

Juice Once A Day: Many people make their fresh juice just as they are ready to consume it during the day.  Keeping up with all the juicing chores needed for a juice fast can become the biggest obstacle to doing one.  Here is a simple way to keep your juice fresh for the day.

Pick up a case of 16 oz Canning Jars.

Prepare the juice as you normally would.

Pour into the 16 oz jars until they are completely full, to the very brim.

Now screw the lid down and place in the fridge.

The juice will remain very fresh because there is no air in the bottle to degrade it.  Make the juice in the day for the day.  This method enables all the juice to be made once a day for the entire day.

Water, a Healing Tool

glass-of-waterSimply stated Hydrotherapy is using water in a therapeutic way.  The power of any healing remedy is enhanced with the use of hydrotherapy.

It is important to flush the body internally with plenty of clear fresh water.  Drinking the nutritionally rich juices aid in rebuilding a sick body but they do not do the work of flushing waste from the system.  Drinking a good amount of water each day is as important to the health of the body as breathing clean air or eating healthy nourishing foods.

Using water externally to cleanse and open our skin is also an important part of healing.  Taking a detoxing herbal bath can revitalize the entire system simulating the removal of waste through the skin as well as the liver and kidneys.

Anytime there is disease or injury there is blockage.  A strong therapeutic form of hydrotherapy is commonly called doing “Hot’s and Cold’s”.  Alternating the hot and cold water over an affected area will effectively blast through blockage, allowing the body to flood the diseased or injured part with fresh nutrient rich blood.  It does no good taking in all the great healing herbs and juices if the nutrition is blocked form the injured or diseased areas of the body.

Consider you want to fire a blood bullet through to blockage around a diseased or injured area.  The Hot water loads the gun.  Use water as hot as can be tolerated.  Do not scald your skin.  Turn the water as hot as you can tolerate without injury.  With your hand wand concentrate the heat over the affected area until the skin is pink with fresh blood.  When heat is applied to the body the blood in pushed to the surface to cool the area. Fresh cooling blood in brought to the area.

NeckPainNow it is time to fire the blood bullet as deeply as possible through the blockage and into the affected area. The more dramatic the change between hot and cold the more power behind the blood forcing it deeper into the blocked up areas. This can be done in one of two ways.

1) Turn the flow of water away from the body.  Now make the water completely cold.  IT will take a few seconds for the flow to change to cold.  As soon as the water is good and cold apply the flow back over the affected area.  Allow the flow to remain for a good 60 seconds before changing back to the hot.  Do at least seven “hots” and seven “colds”.

2) Before beginning fill a bucket or tub with ice and water.   After the affected area is well heated and filled with blood plunge the area into the ice water for a good 60 seconds. Do at least seven “hots” and seven “colds”.

When healing any major disease or injury the “Hots &Colds” should be done three times a day.  Failing to do the hydrotherapy often means the body does not have the ability to heal properly or clear the disease.
