Final thoughts on Juice Fasting

fresh juice

Juice fasting is a powerful tool for clearing the body of toxic back-up before a major disease takes hold in the system.  A pure food program, eating only the best quality food for the body, is an excellent safeguard for a healthy spiritual, emotional and physical life.  That said; even with the best lifestyle there is still a degree of waste that must be eliminated.  Regular times of fasting provide the extra nutrients to clear the body of accumulated toxins.  Think of juicing as pushing the restart button on your life.  When the body begins to send weird error messages, small little strange thing start popping up in your life, it may be time to hit the restart button.

My Personal Suggestion for a Painless Juice Fast

Here is what I do when I juice fast.

An ounce of Echinacea daily, 4 to 6 days a week, each week I juice fast.  Since I’m asking my body to detox I might as well support my immune system to deal with the “die-off”.  Supporting the immune system also aids the body to more quickly clear any issues in my Bones, Flesh or Cartilage, namely areas in my body that are in constant need of support.

Superfood, two tablespoon in fresh juice two to three times a day.  This is my meal replacement.  I add Flax seed oil to my breakfast Superfood smoothie each day.  With each glass of Superfood I swallow 5 kelp capsules; this supports the thyroid and feeds the entire endocrine system.

1 teaspoon Psyllium husk powder daily, in a glass of fresh juice or water. Use the Psyllium powder or do a bowel cleanse using the LBF #2 daily during the entire juice fast to keep the bowels comfortable while supporting good elimination.

1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar in 32 ounces of distilled water each morning.  If drinking this first thing make sure to swish first few swallows around the mouth before swallowing.  This allows the stomach to set up for what is coming, preventing any discomfort that may arise from sending the vinegar onto an unprepared stomach.

Each morning I prepare a half gallon or better fresh fruit juice which I sip on all morning.  Come noon I make a fresh pitcher of vegetable juice for my afternoon drinking.  I keep a cup of tea or glass of juice with me throughout the day.  There is really no limit to the amount of juice but all juices should be sipped slowly allowing the flavors to fill the mouth before swallowing.  (Remember: Chew your Juices for best absorption of the nutrients.)

Superfood FAQ & Suggestions

superfood shakeNature is loaded with Super foods that provide nutrition naturally. We have combined the best nature had to offer into a green drink we like to call “Nature’s Superfood” You can use as much as you feel you need of this powder. We suggest you try two tablespoons three times a day or three tablespoons twice a day, morning and evening.

The ingredients are: Spirulina, Chlorella, Alfalfa Grass, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Purple Dulse Seaweed, Beet Root, Spinach Leaf, Rose Hips, Orange and Lemon Peels and Non-Active Nutritional Yeast Flakes.

Make the following nutritional drink:

  • 8 to 16 ounces freshly squeezed fruit juice diluted as needed with distilled water.
  • ½ to one cup of fresh or frozen seasonal fruit
  • 2 tablespoons Superfood powder mix.

If using fruit with your Superfood mixture gives you too much sugar, you can mix the Superfood in water, or in carrot or other juices.

If you are under a great amount of stress, you can increase the amount of Superfood per dosage, and you can take the increased dose four to six times daily. The food yeast in the Superfood will give a lot of energy that can lift depression and often reverse symptoms of neurological damage.

Some members have noticed their skin becomes too dry on the vegetarian program, so we suggest adding two tablespoons of flaxseed oil to the Superfood drink. This should effectively take care of any onset of dry skin due to a change in your food program. You can also rub castor oil into your dry hands and feet.

One minor problem with adding any oil to Superfood is that it can make some people sluggish. You may have to take the flaxseed oil in the evening, when any energy loss wouldn’t matter as much. Another possibility is to add ground-up flaxseed to your Superfood drink, instead of flax oil.

Extended Juice Fasting

fastingWhy do an Extended Juice Fast?

An extended juice fast can be done for any number of great reasons.  The longest one I’ve done lasted forty days and was all about losing weight.  It worked; I lost 47 pounds in 37 days.  The real key to losing weight this quickly and safely was drinking lots of water along with my daily supply of fresh juice.  The days I did not keep up with my fluid intake the scales did not move downward the next morning.

Juice fasting while doing the Incurables Program for any major disease or condition will provide the body with the copious amounts of nutrients needed.  Whether doing a bit of minor cleansing or clearing a major disease juice fasting while doing the flushing programs will bring the best results.

How To End an Extended Juice Fast

The real issue of an extended juice fast is not how long you continue juicing but how well you transition back to eating regular meals.  A short juice fast of anywhere from two to seven days should be an easy two or three day transition back to eating cooked foods.  Day one; eat only raw food.   Consume only raw fruits & veggies.  If this goes well on day two introduce a baked potato with the skin or cooked brown rice with steamed vegetables.  Chew your food very well.  Seldom are there issues coming back from a short juice fast.

On an extended juice fast lasting from ten to sixty days expect to spend 50% of the time of the juice fast gradually introducing raw and then cooked food back into your system.  For an example coming off a twenty day juice fast will require ten days raw food.  On the day the fast has ended eat only one raw food.  You may eat as much of the food item chosen as desired.  A good food to end a juice fast with would be apples.  On day two choose another single food, maybe grapes.  Day three try a combination of raw fruits or veggies. Continue consuming several glasses of fresh juice each day.

Why do Raw before Cooked?

The question arises, Why all the drama?  What is wrong with stopping the fresh juices and making a big pot of pasta for dinner? Simply put your body will reject the cooked food if introduced too quickly.  A system that has been using only fresh juices for an extended period of time will treat any cooked food as it would a poison.  Either the meal will be vomited out or the bowels will become crampy and sick.  It is important to ease back into cooked foods.  Progress as quickly as your system allows, if you begin feeling poorly slow down, continue eating raw a few days longer.

The Wisdom of Juice Fasting

Juice Fasting sounds like such a great idea.  Anyone wanting to know what Juicing is all about need only watch, “Fat Sick & Nearly Dead,” for the inspiration to get on the juice fasting band wagon.  Everybody would benefit from juice fasting one day each week.  Take a single day and consume only water, fresh fruit and veggie juices all day.  Unless there are blood sugar issues one can drink freely of any and all juices, no limit, drink all you want.

Fat Sick & Nearly Dead Entire Video!!

A one day juice fast requires no real preparation.  Under most conditions a body can wake up and just decide today is the day I’m juice fasting.  Ok, so now you do have to hustle a bit.  Your juicer needs a little help producing the nutrient rich juices your body will be thanking you for all day.

My favorite morning juice requires a little planning so an early morning trip to the local store may be in order.  For one day I’d get a five pound bag of apples, two pears, one pineapple, and a bunch of Kale, one honeydew melon or cantaloupe for my morning fruit juice.  The afternoon vegetable juices will need a five pound bag of carrots, head cabbage and 1 beet. There are books full of great juicing ideas out there.  Discover the mixes that best appeal to you.

A one day juice fast, yes, you can do this.  Now comes a little juice fasting wisdom.  First, do NOT gulp down your juices.  Drink one swallow at a time.  Swish each mouth full around in your mouth before swallowing.  It sounds a little weird but you need to “chew” your juices.  This allows your body to begin digestion in the mouth and set up for what is coming so it will be properly handled when it reached your stomach.

Secondly, never give in to hunger before slowly drinking a full glass of juice.  It will normally take at least ten minutes to properly “chew” your glass of juice down.  Many a time I have decided, “I’m finished with this juice fast,” after letting myself get too hungry.  Before eating anything I keep the promise to myself to have one last glass of juice.  Drinking slowly I find myself completely satisfied by the time the glass is empty, the heady sick way I was feeling has cleared, no need to eat.  The truth be told I don’t really want anything else.

We will discuss longer juice fasting in our next newsletter along with a few tidbits of wisdom for first timers to juicing.

Herbal Healing, Skin, Wounds & First Aid

Supporting Your Skin

Our skin is an organ which must be kept in good health and which mirrors the health of the body below.  Skin issues of all kinds seem to be plaguing society.  Members are asking help for clearing everything from the most serious cases of Psoriasis, chronic hives to black spots to a condition where the skin loses color in patches. I’ve also seen horrible out breaks of moles covering large areas of the body.

The medical community has created many long words naming all the conditions affecting the skin.  We need to look at the underlying causes for all these issues.  If your liver is not doing its job of breaking down toxins efficiently they must be eliminated from your body by other means – in many cases they come out through your skin! When excessive toxins build up in the deeper layers of the skin this causes inflammation to occur and this can manifest as any of the numerous conditions described above. Often it will be seen that worsening skin problems are a sign of liver dysfunction or of future liver problems on the horizon.

When dealing with any serious or mild skin condition my advice has always been to clear the liver first and then begin a program to rebuild the skin.  There is no point using expensive herbal supports for the skin if the liver is going to continue breaking it down through the disposal of toxic waste.

Once the liver has been properly flushed, for acute conditions such as hives ect I would suggest doing an ELF which will usually clear the worst of the issue then follow through with a good liver flush program as needed.

When we understand how our skin functions we will be able to get our minds around how to support this beautiful organ in a healthy state.

Understanding our Skin

The skin has been called the third lung because it takes in oxygen and releases carbon dioxide.

In each square INCH of skin there are:

65 hairs
95-100 sebaceous glands
78 yards of nerve fibers
19 yards of blood vessels
650 sweat glands
9,500,000 cells (this blows my mind)
1,300 nerve endings
19,500 additional cells at the end of the nerve fibers
78 sensory apparatuses for heat
13 sensory apparatuses for cold
160-165 pressure apparatuses for the perception of tactile stimuli

The skin performs 5 functions

  • Protects our bones and organs
  • Allows feeling via the power of sensation
  • Regulates body temperature
  • Excretes and secretes (Nutrition can be absorbed through the skin)

High Blood Pressure

Definition of Blood Pressure: The pressure exerted by blood upon the walls of the arteries, depending upon the force of the heartbeat, the elasticity of the vessel walls, the resistance of the capillary network and the volume and viscosity of the blood.

Causes of High Blood Pressure: There are four main contributing factors to high blood pressure.   Three of these factors are physical the last and fourth is psychological.

For all three blood pressure formulas, with the herbs, proportions and how to make them, see Clearing What Drives Blood Pressure Up.

1) Issues with high Cholesterol. There is a thickening of the blood from catarrhal and excess glutinous and fibrinous matters loading the circulatory system.

High Cholesterol can also contribute to a clogging of the bowel with putrid body waste, making it necessary to cleanse the excretory systems (Bowel Cleansing) in order to purify the blood.

High blood pressure in many cases works just like low blood pressure. Cholesterol must be eliminated from the system in order to get the blood flowing more freely.

2) A clogging of the body’s filtering system, the Kidneys. The kidneys filter all the blood, there is not bypass the blood must go through these filters.  The veins in the kidneys are about the width of a hair.  Any puss or sediment can cause the heart to have to pump hard to get the blood through the clogged filtering system.

3) Hardening of the Arteries. This is caused when calcium is leached form the walls of the arteries and veins.  Most people understand the body’s need for calcium and the loss caused to the bones but few understand the wealth of calcium which also exists within the walls of the veins and arteries.  When a need arises the body will also pull calcium from this area causing the arteries to become hard and less pliable. The result is a crimping and bending of the arteries instead of the ability to flow and move with the body.  The heart is now trying to push blood through a crimped straw.  Not an easy task.

The conditions mentioned above are brought about by improper diet, insufficient rest and exercise and a lack of vitality within the system.

4) The Fourth and final cause for High Blood pressure is Emotional Stress.  Stress can kill.  It is important to find ways to unplug and relax.

Herbal Aids:

Kelp: It is an arterial cleansing agent and gives tone to the walls of the blood vessels. It is helpful in some cases of arterial tension (high blood pressure). Practitioners believe that it helps to remove deposits from the walls of the arteries and restore their elasticity, thereby lengthening life. Sufferers from low blood pressure can also have this condition normalized with the use of Kelp.

Take Cayenne, working up to a teaspoon three times a day. This increases the power of the heart and corrects the circulation problems.

Garlic in copious amounts will bring down high blood pressure.

Dr. Shook’s, High Blood Pressure Formula: This formula used along with the foundational programs will greatly benefit those working to regulate their blood pressure.  This Formula is not a quick fix to force down the elevated blood pressure.  It is best to continue using whatever medication you are on until your body lets you know you won’t need it any longer.  It will normally take two to three months for the pressure to begin to come down.  When it does the numbers stay down showing there has been a complete clearing of the causes responsible for driving the Blood Pressure up.

Emotional Healing

Emotional Health

Red blossom with yellow centerEveryday hurting people call looking for an herbal remedy for the sickness in their bodies, when the pain in their heart is what needs healing.  Our bodies react to the emotional life we live.  Dealing honestly with ones self is the only way to maintain a healthy body, mind, and soul.

It seems forgiveness is the key to living well.  Honestly allowing yourself and those around you the right to be human.

What is forgiveness?

Forgiveness is an empowering gift you grant to yourself. It cannot be earned and is seldom deserved. In my life I have needed to forgive myself the most.

How do you forgive?

By understanding and letting go.  Understanding is achieved when one can rise above the personal disappoint or wrong to view the situation through the eyes of someone else.  Allowing yourself to see what is real.

Saying you forgive someone and yet continuing to emotionally punish them is not forgiveness.  To truly forgive is to allow something different to take place.

Forgiveness allows both parties to move on into the promise of a new and beautiful tomorrow. Free of regrets, full of promise. A tomorrow where you can dream anything; and be anything you can dream. To truly forgive is to truly be free to love. When the heart is free of guilt and sadness, it is free to embrace all the beauty that is your life.

Forgiveness is freedom from control. No one can hold you down if you forgive yourself and those who have wronged you. Most of our life is spent acting out of the guilt and pain we are feeling.  Learn to live in the here and now.

What will learning to Forgive bring into my life?

Learning to forgive will allow you to become one of those uplifting people, who is recharged each day by a life that is overflowing with emotional strength, goodness and vitality. These people brush by us in a moment and leave a beautiful fragrance in their wake. They do not sit and commiserate with us, but fill us with their grace and presence. They do not know all the answers nor do they try to know it all. Those who bless us with their insights are only sharing what they have learned about themselves. These people have learned to use their eyes to see and ears to hear, hearts to truly love and arms to truly hold.

Emotional Healing

Hate, love, apathy, are a few of the words we use to describe our emotional attachment to people or our reaction to an event or object in our lives.   The person these strong feelings are concentrated on will remain relatively unaffected by the emotions carried in the heart of another.  Our interactions with those around us provide them a view of the emotions we harbor.  Even so the only person really affected by either a positive or negative attitude is the one harboring the sentiment.  The emotion and thought life are powerful tools which when properly controlled can provide personal happiness to the possessor while diffusing a spirit of joy to all around.  When the emotional life is allowed to feed unrestrained on a diet of negative emotions the spirit diffused is morose and apathetic while at the same time the physical body begins to show signs of badness within.

We can choose what emotions we attach to the events in our life.  There is a choice here.  You can choose the long term emotions attached to any given event or person affecting your life.  The death of a parent will carry an emotional bill that must be paid, but the event itself is an empty slate which you will choose to fill with your personal perceptions and emotions. You choose how you will react to any given event. The emotions attached to them are colored by past experiences.

To live above the fray of emotional overload is to live in each moment as it occurs. Learn to say what needs to be said, now.  Do well the work you find to do each day.  Treat each person you meet with courtesy and respect.  Let yesterday go, leave tomorrow alone. Today is where you need to live.

The Father has not given you the cares of tomorrow today.  Anticipating tomorrow’s problems today is called worry. Worry is a sin. The Father says tomorrow belongs to him.  He will provide for tomorrow’s needs tomorrow. Today is where you live, work, play, and love. Stop looking past today’s blessings.

Be with the people you are with.  Hear the words they are saying. No. Stop and really listen to what they are saying. Turn off the chatter in your head. Shut off all the filters you use to process peoples words. Look at the person speaking to you, see their eyes, and hear their words. Respond with the words your heart is giving in answer.

Discover how to bless each person you meet.  Let the soul that presses you for their needs have all you are and you will find out just how unlimited you can be. Hold all you own in an open hand toward the father. Allow him to use every part of your world in service to others and you will find out just how limitless your resources truly are. The more you give the more you have to give.

  • Today is my life
  • Tomorrow is my Dream
  • Yesterday my lesson book

I will love all parts of me. I will step into tomorrow unafraid. I will live my life today. I will learn from yesterday. Never be afraid. You are not alone. Never borrow tomorrow’s Cares. That is stealing. Never give up.

Don’t hold on to tightly. If you do you cannot give or receive. All you are and have will die without circulation and renewal. Let your life flow. Don’t ever hold back, that is creating blockage in your spirit.  Speak your heart in love and you will never be wrong. Say the words your mouth is holding and your soul will rest in peace.

  • Allow life to flow through your being and out your hands, and you will never be sick.
  • We are needy because we fear being needy.
  • We are poor because we are afraid of coming to want.
  • We are lonely because we fear rejection.
  • We are small minded because we are afraid of change.
  • We and tired because we are afraid to let go of yesterday and live in today.

There is no peace in living in yesterday. History cannot be changed. You cannot undo the past you can only learn from it and move on.  Your peace will come when you change today by living here now.

Forgive yourself for being human. Accept the gifts from yesterday by learning their lessons.  Letting yesterday’s events be exactly what they are, have been, and will always be, your life. We all have one, a life that is, enjoy it now.

  • Today is my day.
  • Today I own all I am.
  • Today I will rise above every trial and hardship.
  • Today I will live.

Empowering Your Life

How do we continue to do the good we would?  Sometimes life can drain every drop of flavor from my day, leaving me feeling uncared for and empty.  What is the secret to consistently being available to those in our sphere of influence?  There are question that we must each answer for ourselves.  Often the reason we do not discover our answers is because the question continue to go unasked.

What does it mean to give my personal power away?

This is done when you allow anything or anyone the personal power to mistreat you either emotionally or physically.  The key in the statement above is: “you allow”.  Obviously it is impossible to prevent unscrupulous people from doing bad.  What makes the difference is, did you make it possible for them to affect your life in a negative way.

Did you invest too much of yourself in someone who did not deserve your trust?  Finding out too late the privileged information they were holding has been used against you.

Going places or participating in activities that are not a blessing to yourself or others.  Were you careless in the way you handled a situation?

Allowing myself to remain in an uncomfortable situation or around crass people can quickly return me emotionally to the little girl I was who had no power to make the bad stop.  In my life I am empowered when I can exit an uncomfortable situation.  I am free to choose who I will be with and where I will spend my time.  If I allow someone access to my life who is hurtful or unkind then I have given my power away to that person.

Healing the Heart

Healing the emotional heart is as important as removing disease from the physical body.  Every day I am reminded of this fact as I share with our members.  Until the physically sick person will deal with the emotional fallout responsible for creating the diseased condition in their body there is little hope they can be well.

Dealing with ourselves is the hardest work we will ever do.  Getting to know yourself, accepting your failings as well as  the achievements is to find a balance which leads to an inner peace only the Lord can give.

Getting Started, Herbal Healing

Natural Healing, what is it?

It is a way of living. It is a conscious decision to stop doing the things that have been hurting you and begin to do things that make you happy. For each person this will be different because we are all different. Natural Healing is getting the toxins out of your Body, Mind and Soul. It is accepting all parts of who you are, accepting every experience that has made you who you are today. Natural Healing is learning to embrace your WHOLE story, every part of you; Learning to love every part of you, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Yes, the Mind and Soul are as important as the physical body.  You Cannot Be Any Healthier Physically than You Are Emotionally. If you are emotionally holding onto old traumas they will manifest in your body as allergies, skin problems, liver disease, tumors, cancers etc.. You can hide from everyone except yourself. You are you. Even if you do not consciously acknowledge your issues they will still affect your physical body. We will get more into this later.

Natural Healing does not offer a magic herb or pill that can be taken to cleanse and purify the body. I’m sorry to be the one to inform you, there is no such thing. I do not personally believe God would ever provide such a substance to His children. Knowing what I know now I would not want to take such a pill either.

Natural Healing, What is it?

Why? Because the Gift Is in the Journey.

Your journey to health begins the day you start to make positive changes in your lifestyle. Each change impacts those around you and your emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. With each positive change you make you will begin to realize your gift. Sometimes this will happen within minutes of a change, sometimes months will go by before you realize the gift.

Without the experiences your healing journey will bring there would be no growth, no understanding that what you put in your mouth, think in your heart, believe in your mind, has anything to do with your overall health. Until you change the things you are doing that made you sick you will not be able to maintain health even if you were given a “miracle pill”.

Herbs Are Not Drugs…

When speaking of herbs & Drugs most people tend to use the same terminology. To set the record straight we need to understand what herbs are and what they do.

Herbs are not Drugs, they are Super-Nutrition packed food. Some herbs contain properties that will target specific areas of the body. For example, the herbs found in the prostate formula target the prostate to increase circulation and healing to the prostate gland. Your garlic, goldenseal, dandelion root, etc.. Work to destroy viruses, germs, bacteria, etc.. from the tissues, organs, and blood stream. There are several herbs such as Red Clover that specifically clean up the blood stream. Herbs are like Master Builders with blueprints. They know what to do and have the ability to do a momentous amount of restorative work in the body when used in conjunction with a complete Natural Healing Program.

Following are a few Natural Healing Aids you can include in your healing programs:

Hydro-therapy: Creating a forced circulation through the sick or damaged area by alternating Hot and Cold water. The Hot water brings fresh blood to the affected area. The cold drives the blood in deep through the sick area providing a forced circulation through the blockage that occurs when injury or illness is present in the body.

Juicing & Superfood Drinks: This is where your Herbal Master Builders look for the “wood” [nutrition] to Rebuild & Restore your body. The Herbals provide the special nutrition for the specific work being done. The thing to remember is that the herbals do not contain all the nutrition needed to do all the work they are capable of doing.

By using these highly nutritious foods you are making sure they have all the substances needed to do all the work they are capable of doing.

Exercise and Movement: Circulation is the key to good health. This is best done by a daily routine of exercise and movement. Just do it. Everyday do something more than you did yesterday. This will break lose the old emotional stuff also. Remember you cannot be any healthier physically than you are emotionally. Let the old stuff flow out and the new in.
